Regenerative Injection Therapy
What is Regenerative Injection Therapy?
Coined by Dr. Felix Linetsky 1991, Regenerative Injection Therapy, or RIT, brought other procedures like sclerotherapy and prolotherapy to under one umbrella. Regenerative Injection Therapy triggers the body’s natural regenerative process of your damaged tissues by injecting a specific substance into the affected area such as joint or attachment or an enthesis.
Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS)
Painful Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome or EDS and Joint Hypermobility Syndrome are not as rare as it was presumed before. EDS and JHS encompasses a group of genetic disorders that affect the body’s connective tissues, primarily collagen. Both characterized by joint hypermobility, skin elasticity, and a range of other symptoms. While there is no cure for EDS, Regenerative Injection Therapy is the only currently known treatment to produce new collagen and to significantly improve / modify the course of the disease, diminish pain and return patients to normal activities.
“Dr. Felix Linetsky, M.D, collaborates with Dr. Francisco M. Torres to discuss the complex landscape of chronic pain and its connection to Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS), emphasizing the challenges in EDS diagnosis and treatment, as well as the promising yet underexplored potential of regenerative injection therapy (RIT) for chronic pain management in EDS patients.”
Whiplash Injuries
Whiplash injuries occur when the neck and head experiences rapid, back-and-forth movements, commonly associated with car accidents, causing damage to the soft tissues, ligaments, and muscles. Symptoms may not appear immediately, and in some cases, they can become chronic, significantly impacting a person’s quality of life. These injuries can lead to a range of painful symptoms, including neck pain, stiffness, headaches, and even cognitive difficulties. While traditional treatments such as rest, physical therapy, and pain medication have been the standard of care for years, regenerative injection therapy offers a promising alternative approach for those seeking effective and long-lasting relief.
